NOTES:

  • Following the consignment work of Ginga no Sanning (Trio of the Galaxy), Pax Softnica continued presenting and soliciting projects for Nintendo.
  • Pax Softnica programmer Tomoshige Hashishita started working on a volleyball game with roots from a previous Pax Softnica volleyball game titled "Attack 4 Women Volleyball" for the MSX.
  • Hashishita unsuccessfully pitched the game to SEGA, then converted to a sample ROM and presented it to Nintendo in Kyoto.
  • Hashishita thought it would be a good idea to include a volleyball (sports) game around the launch of the Famicom Disk System, and Nintendo agreed and signed up for the project.
  • Nintendo's EAD (or R&D4 at the time), took production of the title and worked on graphics and sound.
  • This was the first Nintendo EAD x Pax Softnica title, and would foster a relationship that would continue for many years.
