Tetris 2 is a sequel to the Nintendo developed line of Tetris titles for Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy. This installment was released for the Super Nintendo, alongside other versions for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy. This version plays differently from the original in that the player has three colors of falling blocks, and by lining up three blocks of the same color, horizontally or vertically, they will disappear. While the falling blocks are still made up of four pieces, they may also be joined diagonally, creating many new shapes. The Super Nintendo version includes the Puzzle Mode from the Game Boy version that is not included on the Nintendo Entertainment System version. Other additions include a re hauled color art style and password save system. In Japan, the game was titled Tetris Flash which differed from the Tetris 2 title marketed in the North America and Europe. |
