  • SimCity is a city building simulator, originally released for the PC and developed by Will Wright of Maxis.
  • Nintendo acquired development rights for their consoles, and developed an adapted version for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
  • While cancelled for the NES, the game was ported to the Super Nintendo and released on August 13, 1991.
  • Years later, Nintendo would reacquire the license and produce SimCity 64 for the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive.
  • The SNES version was developed by Nintendo EAD with development assistance from Intelligent Systems and TEC.
