NOTES:

  • Developed by Nintendo EPD Production Group No.10's Pikmin team.
  • Eighting co-developed most aspects of the game alongside the core Pikmin team.
  • Assisted by Mario Club, Planeta, and other subcontractors.
  • EPD Director and Lead Programmer Yuji Kando, admits to this game being the culmination of many different prototypes he worked on after Pikmin 3.
  • Kando's specific role for this game included taking charge of the general game design and level design, the base programming of the game system, and deciding on the game's direction.
  • Miyamoto stated that the goals was to convince players that Pikmin weren't just fantasy characters, but rather creatures that could be among us in the real world.
  • Kando revealed that in designing the treasures, they wanted parents and children to have conversations about the significance of some of the collectible items.
  • Between public acknowledgement of the game and patents from lead developer Yuki Kando, development from prototype to production spanned over 8 years.
