  • Developed by EPD Production Group No.04.
  • Netcode uses uses old-style NEX servers, NOT the new NPLN introduced by Nintendo's tech team.
  • According to Yamashita, project started shortly after the Nintendo Switch system was released..
  • Development lagged with the core team struggling to make the game feel new or different from the original.
  • 90% of the internal production staff, were new to the Wii Sports series.
  • Creating the motion mechanics proved to be very challenging.
  • The team didn't want to reuse Miis, and went through several different character prototypes before settling on the more detailed sportsmates.
  • Additional graphic work from Digital Media Lab, Bee Tribe, and Spark Creative.
  • Development time for this project was approximately 4 years.
