Kazunobu Shimizu

Kazunobu Shimizu Currently listed as a full-time employee of Nintendo Company Limited, a global manufacturer and developer of entertainment software and hardware. Throughout this time with the company, history of work spans mainly as a developer in the software development sector. Shimizu is a native resident of Japan. After graduating from the Nagoya University of Arts, he officially joined Nintendo in 1985, initially working as a Graphic Artist. Most recently, Shimizu has worked as a Planner on software related projects for the Entertainment Planning & Development Division. ➥ Extended Profile Shimizu was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1963. Shimizu has always been active in a variety of different sports, and is a huge fan of the Hanshin Tigers. Shimizu began his career by designing graphics for several Famicom titles, including the internationally released Super Mario Bros. 2 USA and Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. One of his more interesting projects titled Slide Adventure: MAGKID for the Nintendo DS, was inspired by his childhood love of magnets. Shimizu's most famous work revolves around the original 2D iteration of the F-Zero series. The latter half of his career has involved smaller projects with very hands-on contributions including Pocket Pikachu and several built-in system applications for Nintendo.
