Hudson Soft was a Japanese company that developed and published video games. The company was founded in 1973 by brothers Hiroshi and Yuji Kudo. They named the company Hudson because of their love of trains; Hudson was the name given to steam locomotives with a 4-6-4 wheel arrangement. The company was best known for producing the Mario Party series of games, in which they had developed them up until Mario Party DS. The company went bankrupt in 2012, when it was then merged with Konami Digital Entertainment. Most of the staff transferred over to ND Cube, which is the company now responsible for developing the Mario Party series to this day. |
