2 years is not enough time in between development cycles. Especially from SD to HD. I expect Nintendo to announce another HD port or collection for this Fall when it becomes certain to their optimistic minds.

Pikmin and Wii Fit are not even close to being released are they???

Yeah,galaxy 2 took 3 years reusing assets and on the same hardware.

I fear that they are simply going to produce some direct sequels which then mostly reuse assets and gameplay mechanics from their Wii counterparts. I mean, they have been doing this with NSMB and AC for quite a few years now and the Mario 3D titles seem to go into the same direction, so did titles such as Nintendogs and Jam with the Band.

Wii Fit U is probably finished already but held back for strategic reasons. They had the boxart finished last year already and the game received an age certification early in 2013. NoE is doing the same with Dr Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training for 3DS.

The Wii U has zero momentum, so any niche or semi-popular title released now is going to absolutely BOMB. They need a big gun to release now and PIKMIN nor Game & Wario are it. The console side of the company is in BIG trouble.

On NeoGAF you mentioned Headstrong Games. I'm don't think that they have the resources to create a Wii U title. Catalis shut down various Kuju studios over the past few years: Out of 7 there are only Headstrong and Zoe Mode remaining. Headstrong also saw layoffs after HotD/Aragorn's Quest underperformed and when they had no subsequent project. Since then, they only developed Top Gun (pretty low budget), Rabbids Rumble (3DS), and New Art Academy. On LinkedIn there are only 29 employees associated with Headstrong. I'd guess the studio would be dead by now if it wasn't for the success of the Art Academy series - London probably isn't the cheapest place to develop videogames.

Well I mean Nintendo HD is still skimpy on production values and online functions. The NSMB and Nintendo Land teams were not overly bloated over the typical Wii teams.

I think that might be a big reason Nintendo latched on to Platinum Games. PG probably had 2 games early without publishers, and Nintendo needs first-party games to release. Heck, games period.
