Major (and very astonishing) takeaways from the most recent Direct (03.27.2025)
So, while I haven't been able to watch the direct in its entirety, I have heard through word of mouth that there were some very shocking reveals:
- Tomodachi Life gets a sequel after nearly 11 years of people clamoring for Nintendo to make a follow-up game, called Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. It does look very different from the original game, so I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it, but I am holding out hope that it'll be reasonably good.
- Rhythm Heaven is also finally returning, with the new installment being titled Rhythm Heaven Groove.
Honestly, definitely one of the most surprising Directs in recent memory. I honestly thought both of these franchises were dead in the water and Nintendo wouldn't even touch them with a ten-foot pole, but evidently I was wrong. So, Kyoto Ninja, it seems like your predictions of a Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven sequel that you've maintained finally came true after all.
I suppose the only problem with the aforementioned games is that they won't release until 2026, so we still have quite a long time to wait.
