Iwasaki Electronics
- Initially hired by Satoru Okada to reverse engineer Donkey Kong. 3 engineers were enlisted.
- President was Hiroji Iwasaki
- Ryoichi Kitanishi formed a small "Nintendo" group after Donkey Kong Jr, that helped Nintendo on projects.
- December 1986, IS was formed by 13 developers who mostly spun off from Iwasaki Electronics (Ryoichi Kitanishi, Hatao Ogata, Tomoyuki Nakamura, etc.)
- Iwasaki Electronics continued despite those members defecting. Did other types of projects not related to video games.
IS never programmed "Metroid", but technically Tohru Narihiro ported the Famicom Disk System version along with Kenji Nishizawa of Nintendo, to the NES in 1987.
