I haven't tried for old patents, but for recent ones it's very easy to use.

I just put Nintendo patents in the search field in the main page. Then I go to Nintendo Co. Ltd. patent applications (there are separate categories for NST, Nintendo of America, etc). A list appears with all Nintendo patents from the last nine months sorted by date. It updates every thursday night. Last one about 30 new appeared, which is far above the usual.

I hope it's Yamano. He also did project management for Other M and Kiki Trick. Hosokawa is one of those employees that deserves a promotion, but for us it's better if he stays as a developer. Speaking of handheld metroids, has Masani Ueda done anything lately? Maybe the next Band Bros. scheduled for next year?

The Nintendoland credits are interesting, I think that is the first public mention of NintendoWare, isn't it?

Yeah, it seems like both men joined the company at roughly the same time, so maybe Yamano will be an unexpected spoiler.

Katsuya Yamano was like an assistant manager of SPD Group 1 and was producer on a few games like Face Training DS and some other stuff. That is the only reason why he might beat Hosokawa.

Ryuichi Nakada really? Luigi's Mansion was weird because Next Level usually works with Tanabe and SPD3, but we started seeing EAD co-develop / produce some games this generation. Maybe all three are involved indeed.

Good for Sakamoto if he really was promoted, he deserves it.

I imagine Hosokawa would be next in line for leading SPD1, I can't think of anyone who has as much seniority as him in the team.

I hope not, we need some people working hands on in a completely in house 2D Metroid. :(

SPD is soooo going to be a very important pillar in this generation for Nintendo.

Speaking of SPD, recently a Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon patent surfaced, and both Shigeru Miyamoto and Riuychi Nakada appeared, so maybe both EAD and SPD are collaborating with Next Level Games.

Also Sakamoto is officially named the General Manager of Software Planning & Development Department, of Software Planning & Development Division as opposed to Manager of Group 1 of Software Planning & Development Department.

I suspected this during Rhythm Heaven Fever and Kiki Trick..

I totally saw that and was wondering if it was a mistranslation. But then.. Tezuka is mentioned as an "executive officer" instead of the general manager (which eguchi might now be) and which means Group No. 2 has a new producer (Hisashi Nogami?)

It's interesting Eguchi got the nod over Hideki Konno (group 1) if so. But it looks like the big restructure is beginning.

Ninja, in the Nintendoland Iwata Asks, Eguchi is credited as being a General Manager of the Software Development Department of EAD instead of just a producer. It seems he has been promoted. Maybe a sign of the restructure going smoothly.
