Sakamoto is the one I'm worried about — his teams have been so inconsistent, his counterparts mostly gone, and many of the marquee proteges kind of disappeared or were transferred elsewhere.

It's really only Takehiko Hosokawa who is only maybe 10 years younger than I can confidently say will continue the legacy.

His final credit is as producer on Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park.

This is a pretty big deal in my opinion. I don't think Nintendo will be the same without him.
