• Tomodachi Life gets a sequel after nearly 11 years of people clamoring for Nintendo to make a follow-up game, called Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. It does look very different from the original game, so I'm not sure how much I'll enjoy it, but I am holding out hope that it'll be reasonably good.
• Rhythm Heaven is also finally returning, with the new installment being titled Rhythm Heaven Groove.

Honestly, definitely one of the most surprising Directs in recent memory. I honestly thought both of these franchises were dead in the water and Nintendo wouldn't even touch them with a ten-foot pole, but evidently I was wrong. So, Kyoto Ninja, it seems like your predictions of a Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven sequel that you've maintained finally came true after all.

I suppose the only problem with the aforementioned games is that they won't release until 2026, so we still have quite a long time to wait.

• New Zelda game (Echoes of Wisdom) with the same art style as the Link's Awakening remake
• Metroid Prime 4 gameplay and release window have been revealed
• New Mario & Luigi series game(!) called Brothership; definitely unexpected as Alphadream's shutdown made it highly unlikely that it would return
• Donkey Kong Country Returns HD will release in January 2025
• New MP game - Super Mario Party Jamboree
• Nintendo Switch Sports is getting basketball as a new sport in a free update

Overall, we did see some unexpected surprises but somewhat lacking. It's been over 9 years since the last Rhythm Heaven game and although it's one of my favorite series I don't think Nintendo has any plans for a new title.

I'm not very ambitious about this one, but we've all been waiting for a full direct.
