Face Training Mini

Face Training Mini was released in Japan as Kyoukara Hajimeru Facening: Kao Tre Mini (今日からはじめるフェイスニング 顔トレミニ) for the DSiWare and Nintendo DSi. The game was a follow up to the original Face Training DS released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS. This new version is considered more of a special edition with a few tweaks and additions and was released in 5 chapters. The software was developed under the consultation of Japanese beauty expert Fumiko Inudo. T

Gameplay

The training software instructs the user on how to perform several facial exercises that have a goal of keeping your face healthy looking and wrinkle free. The exercises range from opening your eyes wide to tilting and turning your face to the left or right. The training program will tell you to perform a move and hold it for a count of five, and slowly relax. While you perform the exercises, the peripheral camera tracks your facial expressions and critiques your techniques by taking several snapshots and adding visual cues to illustrate how the motions can be improved. Similar to Brain Age, and other Touch Generation titles, Face Training Mini is meant for daily use but in short durations.

Development

The original prototype was developed by Nintendo EAD for an undisclosed hardware. The project was continued by a mixture of staff from Nintendo SPD and Intelligent Systems.

Reception

The release was rather obscure and not much media print or sales figures have been published.

Legacy

Not much mention has ever been made of the game since release.
