Nintendo Beam Gun Series

Beam Gun Custom was released in Japan as Kousenjuu Custom Series. The series was initially introduced in 1971, following the success of the Beam Gun SP series. This new line consisted of a very realistic looking rifle made from wood-like plastic and metal (Custom Lever Action Rifle) and a new target (Custom Target). The series was re-launched in 1976 with two entries in series; Custom Lion and Custom Gunman.

The original Beam Gun SP could shoot up to 24 feet, while the Beam Gun Custom was capable of shooting up to 300 feet. Unfortunately, the shooting distance was pointless since it was nearly impossible to shoot a target, especially the smaller ones. The guns designed for the series include the Beam Custom Gun and the Beam Custom Lever Action Rifle. There were only three targets built for the series (three less than the Beam Gun SP Series), though more were seemingly planned according to leaked patents. The targets included Custom Gunman, Custom Lion and Custom Target. The first two targets collapsed when shot while the Custom Target span around and lit up (and today is extremely rare)..
