Arika Co., Ltd. is a privately held company that specializes in video game development. The company was originally founded in 1995, and is located in Tokyo, Japan. The founding members were primarily former Capcom employees. The name of the company itself is the reverse of the name of the company's founder, Akira Nishitani (Nin Nin), who co-created Street Fighter II. Arika's first arcade game was Street Fighter EX. It was successful and was followed up with two updates, and then two sequels on the arcade and PlayStation 2. Arika is well known for the Tetris: The Grand Master series and Cardcaptor Sakura series. The company has worked for Nintendo on several first-party projects including Endless Ocean, Dr. Luigi, 3D NES Classics, and Teddy Together.
