After graduating from her university program, she officially joined Mario Club in circa 1998, initially working as a debugger. It is believed that she is married to Naoki Takami, another debugger at Mario Club, but this has not been fully confirmed. It is believed that she got married around 2007 or 2008, as games released as late as 2006 still had her last name as Shimizubata.
